For a weapon, the element is randomly changed and the ability is changed to any of: Lobotomize; (Lobotomizer) Deal 3 damage to target creature; (Owl's Eye) Vampire; (Vampire Dagger) Poison (cumulative); (Arsenic) Destroy; (Pulverizer) Random quanta conversion; (Discord) Deal 4+X damage per turn, were X is number of quanta owned matching the weapon's element; (Fahrenheit) Momentum; (Titan) Heal up to 5 HPs per turn; (Druidic staff) Immaterial; (Morning star) Reverse Time; (Eternity) Earthquake; (Trident) The ATT|HP stats are randomly changed using the same formula as Improved Mutation. ATT being the weapon's basic attack and the HP coming into play if the weapon is flown. For shields, there is again a random element change and physical damage is reduced by a random number of 0 or 1. The shield's ability is also changed to one of the following: Phase shift for 3 turns (Dimensional shield) Fog 40% (Fog shield) Flying for 5 turns (Wings) Dusk 50% (Dusk mantle) 7 Bone shields (Bone wall) Physical damage reduced by (an additional) 2, ie max armour of 3 (Titanium shield) Use 1 quanta of the shield's element to absorb 3 physical damage (Dissipation shield) Deal  damage to attacking creature (Fire shield) Creatures with mre than 5HP cannot reach (Gravity shield) Infection 75% (Spine carapace) Reflect spells, physical damage reduced by (an additional) 1 (Emerald shield) Reflect spells, immaterial (Reflective shield) Physical damage reduced by (an additional) N where N is number of creatures of same element as shield (Hope) Time bubble for 1 turn (Procrastination) Freeze 30% (Ice shield) SERIES:

Very interesting concept. This may make more use of those dastardly cheap shields such as Skull Buckler.

Perhaps, but the abilities don't stack. "The shield gains "one" of the following abilities". I'll change gain to "change" to be extra clear.

Thanks. I thought about applying it to other permanents, but imagined that could get out of hand very quickly. There are a huge number of abilities available there. I also thought it was starting to walk on the water nypmh's territory.

It appears as though killdazombies speaks the truth. From the looks of things, yes, he did originally have an idea to create a Forge that affects your weapon on his list of ideas. Refer to this thread made by killdazombies:

It is there on the list, but as an individual idea, lacks the correct format for card suggesting and may as well go in ScaredGirl's "Steal my Idea" thread.
