It will only effect the cards listed in the bottom of these notes (or maybe some more, if i left something out). Working mechanism: Every effect that "hurts" u have -20% chance to happen. That means if ur creature attacks against a Dusk Mantle, it has a 0.5*0.8 chance to be blocked. If u use 2 Shard of Optimisms, it will have a 0.5*0.8*0.8 chance to be blocked. On the other hand, if u have the Dusk Mantle, it has an increased chance of blocking. To avoid OP with multiple shards, the chance of not blocking should be calculated instead of the chance of blocking. (If u have 3 shard, each increase the chance of blocking by 20%, that means the new chance would be 0.5*1.2*1.2*1.2=86%, thats 14% successful attack, but if the chance of "not blocking" is calculated, the chance of block would be 1-(0.5*0.8*0.8*0.8 )=74%, 26% successful attack) Shard of Optimism effects: Mutation(unupgraded) - chance of die/mutate change, chance of turning into abomination stays the same Discord - if im right, for every single quanta, it has a chance to turn it into something else - this thought is based on the fact, that if u have a lot of quanta for a single color, Discord will only transform a part of it - Shard of Optimism will grant a higher/lesser chance (depending on u or ur opponent has the discord) to turn a quanta into something else Thorn Carapace/Spine Carapace - modify the chance of getting poisoned Ice Bolt/Ice Lance - modify the chance of getting frozen Ice Shield/Permafrost Shield - modify the chance of getting frozen Fog Shield/Improved Fog - modify the chance to block Dusk Mantle/Improved Dusk - modify the chance to block May modify the effect of: Improved Mutation - better chance to get mutants with higher stats (or lesser for ur opponent) Chaos Power - better chance to get higher bonus (or lesser for ur opponent) Hatch - better chance of turning into a rare creature (or lesser for ur opponent) Pandemonium - any idea? This card has a very subjective ability, don't you think? How is it possible to measure the 'improved' statistical performance of getting better mutants, or 'better' elite creatures from Elite Fate Eggs, or scrambling the opponent's quanta via a Discord to the precise amounts to make them unable to play their cards, etc.?

I guess it does have an interesting twist, but when I think of Optimism, I usually think that it correlates with the word 'Hope' - the more dire a situation is, the stronger your coping mechanism (Optimism/Hope) becomes...

by mutation, i only refered to the unupgraded version - this shard would modify the chance of dying/mutating (for enemy, more chance to die, for u, more chance to mutate), but even for the mutants, its possible to get better stats with a higher chance
Fate Eggs: higher chance of getting rare creatures
Discord: if im right, for every single quanta, it has a chance to turn it into something else - this thought is based on the fact, that if u have a lot of quanta for a single color, Discord will only transform a part of it - Shard of Optimism will grant a higher/lesser chance (depending on u or ur opponent has the discord) to turn a quanta into something else
Chaos Seed/Pandemoniom - i dont know about this, thats why i put them in the "May modify the effect of:" section

for me, optimism is that even if the odds are against u, u still belive - this shard makes this belief come true (or at least gives a higher chance)

I just finished making a very similar card . . . and then when I went to post it this was the top post . . .

 . . . I'd even hand-drawn an image for it . . .   

Oh well, some days are like that. Maybe someone else can use the image.

If you want I can give you what I had for Chaos seed/pandemonium, although I was using a pretty different mechanism, so it might not translate.

(if you're curious, I was working it so it would run random chance calculations twice, then take the more favorable result)
