It seems to be useless, but it
might be upgradable.

cards. Choose 1 to add to
your Hand. Discard the rest.

IDEA: Kael Hate
NOTES: When the choose target box comes up, there will be no cancel button but 6 card stubs like those shown in hand. When clicked the ability wil resolve adding that card to you hand in the place of the Shard of Insight.

The 6 random cards are slightly biased, choosing 2 at random from your original deck list, 2 at random from your marks element, but not those shown earlier, and 2 totally random but not presented earlier. This means each card of the 6 is unique and an unusual range is given. The cards could be basic or upped and include anything in the card database including tokens like Malignant Cell.



Holding to this virtue gives you the ability to look into the being of your element.
This understanding should both help you solve any issue you have with your opponent
and show an understanding of ones self and ones element.

its extremely OP
not only have 1 plus card per turn, u can even choose which 1 u need
just think about a fire rush deck - you no longer need dragons/deflags/shield in it, u just play 2-3 of this shard, + put ur deck full off pillars/immolations/minor phoenix(or photon) + tons of heals, and u got a fire rush deck 3 times faster and stronger than a normal 1
or u just spam sundials with a time deck, or steel everything with darkness, not speaking about breaking the 6 card limit (i know its random what u get, but with 3 shards and an empty hand, u can almost certainly get whatever u want)
it would be much better if it was a spell instead, with maybe less cost

I have to completely disagree, masterada.  I think that this is brilliant.  You get, at most 8 random cards of your mark's element to choose between, and you only keep one of them -- basically turning the Shard into a semi-random card of your mark's element.  It's great for elements that have lots of versatility (Darkness, Entropy), not so much for elements that are strongly themed (Life, Air).

I can actually see using this a lot in a deck that has all one element except for a :darknessmark and a couple of Steals.  I love it.

mindgate: u get 1 of ur opponents card, for  :aether :aether
hourglass: u get ur next card in the deck, for  :time
both above can only be used if a have the specific quanta in ur deck
Shard of Insight: u get a card of ur choice for 0, can be used in ANY deck, and is VERY OP in mono decks
maybe if u dont draw in the next turn, it could be better (but that would make not decking out much,much easier)
"You get, at most 8 random cards of your mark's element to choose between" - u realise that there r ~15 cards for each element? if u use 2-3 of this shard, u can draw whatever u need (ig. darkness: steel sg in every turn, for gravity spam black holes+momentum all ur creatures+summon oty when u feel like it etc.)
not speaking about rares/pillars/nymphs (i guess u shouldnt be able to draw them by the way)
i dont get how cant u see thats VERY OP
make it a spell, that could balance it a bit

i really, really like the card idea, however i do think that tweeking the cost and number of cards to choose from could bring it more in line.  maybe 1 random quanta per use ability, 2 or 3 cards to choose from, any insight'ed card not in play goes away at end of turn.  my 2cp

Decided to make the effect a spell allowing it to occur earlier in the game but not repetitively. This version does not requie space in hand so is not locked by nightmare and is always 6 cards to choose from.

Opinions?

ps: it may be a bit hard to code, as u must modify the interface to show the 6 cards somewhere (or it can be shown in the opponents hands, but thats so lame ^^)

The game needs a tool for showing cards for search tools. This can be the first.
(f not there is always the fill your hand and discard alternate.

^ Agreed.  I think more draw/search options would do a lot for this game.  Sounds pretty good to me as well; its certainly not guaranteed to give you the card(s) you want, but when you need that 1 Tower or shield...

Wow, this card would allow for many new decks of over fifty cards. :D
Rarely see those in game, so I really hope this gets implemented.
