ART: N/A IDEA: Timdood3 NOTES: Thematic notes: When mating, female praying mantises cannibalize the male, killing it and creating more.  We're just going to ignore the fact that this card essentially rapes the enemy creatures.  How does that even work? Deckbuilding notes: An earth card, Mating Mantis fits in with the theme of creatures that don't hit very hard, but can be difficult to get rid of.  And en mass, many Mating Mantises can be troublesome without AoE.  It also synergizes with Iridium Warden, guarding a creature while whittling away.Paired with SoP, you can overwhelm the opponents with increasing number and power of Mantises.  Maybe counter-intuitive, but you could include skeletons in your deck as essentially more copies of Matin Mantis if you expect your opponent to not have many creatures/expect them to play around Mating Mantis.  Why you would to that instead of choosing a more suitable deck, I don't know.  Maybe your better options are banned x3 Balance notes: Somewhat similar to Parasite | Bloodsucker, A relatively small creature with a CC ability.  Which is what I compared this card to for balance. Unlike Parasite, Mating Mantis can kill a creature without having to let it attack; Mating Mantis can do damage directly instead of poison warranting the higher cost, delaying getting many of them out quickly. At 2 attack, Mating Mantis isn't much, but one is enough to get CC going and once you do, you have an army.  One attack is insignificant, Parasite decks almost always have more sources of damage (upgrading to Bloodsuckers can offset this), and three makes it too threatening for its cost. 2 health isn't much to get rid of, but it survives things like Unstable Gas.  Upgrading to 4 health lets it be a bit more of a nuisance by letting it survive things like EE snipes and uncharged elemental bolts. The unupgraded card is only 11 letters long when it's supposed to be at least 12 letters long.
