Idea for Card Design War #3 Round 1

This is essentially an easy and somewhat expensive way to kill a creature and hurt your opponent. I imagine the upgraded version could be devastatingly useful in an mono-Death deck.

When it says "deal x damage to your opponent," I mean x damage to the opponent's HP counter.

As pertains to R1 (Deadly Mail/Explosive Mail)

This may be a question to which I should already know the answer, but I'd like to be clear on it before I go vote. Due to being randomly chosen, the effect is instantaneous. Therefore, for the upgraded version does the damage potential to the opponent include the quanta spent on the spell or not?

I'm going to say yes because to the best of my knowledge (I haven't played Elements in a while, sorry), Fire Bolt and Ice Bolt work similarily.
