Well, it's like a Firecracker Beetle (preety sure it's called something like that). If you're not careful, they defend themselves by emmiting two chemicals that cause a reaction when encountering each other and car reach temperatures of 95 degrees Celsius (203 degrees Fahrenheit). I took that and converted into a spell. And why shouldn't you cast it on an opponents creature? It would prevent cremation, fractals...

K that explains the mechanic, but not how it relates to Virtue.
Zanz wanted the shard to represent the virtue of the user, this doesn't seem virtuous to me, it seems offensive.
I can't relate being cautious with the blowing up of my opponents creatures.
Note I like the idea of the mechanic I just don't relate it to the Virtue of Caution.

well, IDK, the other option on my mind was :
All attacking creatures have 10% chance to miss you
But that semmed lame to me. like solar sheild and skull sheild and ice sheild and reflective sheild and fog sheild and dusk and bone wall and... you get my point. most defensive cards are lame as long as I'm concerned. I mean, my moto is kill before killed. Not defend to survive. I don't hide. I stalk and kill. I dont retreat. I run away to kill someone else.

Not very Cautious, more like aggressive or reckless. Maybe there is a better name in what left of the list. Something to do with setting up a suicide, deadmans handle or such.

Preety sure it wasn't on the list. Was it?
Correct. "Volatile" is not a virtue in any case of the word.
Volatility.  And I'm not sure exactly how you're defining virtues.  If you want to be the most specific, cardinal virtues include Prudence, Justice, Temperance, and Courage.  Sometimes, Chastity, Charity, Diligence, Patience, Kindness, and Humility are considered the Seven "heavenly" virtues, to oppose the seven deadly sins.  Faith, Hope, and Charity are all also virtues of a different kind.  I'm wondering how this list was generated, and more specifically, whether or not it was made by somebody who really understands virtues.  Volatility is just as virtuous as Readiness, Gratitude, Divinity, Caution, or any of the other accepted names out there.  That being said, if there's actually any reason behinds the words in this list, that would be enough for a theme, in which case you would be right and "Volatility" would be unbefitting as a shard.

Zanz wants the Shard to be representations of virtues. The competition this card was created for requires you name your shard after a virtue from a list in such that your shard represents that virtue. See Here http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,11099.0.html

Yes, and I understand that.  He decides which words to consider virtues, and makes a list of them.  Words that would be considered virtues by the common sense of a word.  Which again, I don't have a big problem with.  My problem is with what you were saying, that volatility is not a virtue in any case of the word.  This is not true.  In the form of word we're using it in, it would basically mean "a good or admirable quality or property".  Any quality or property can be considered virtuous, as all qualities or properties have both good and bad sides to them.  Being overly cautious is, quite obviously, a rather bad thing, and a bit of volatility can quite easily be a good thing.
