I don't like how roasted turkey is a fail of an upgraded card. Rather it is more of a support card, like ashes for phoenix.

It's not exactly a fail. Sure, it's a waste to upgrade it, but altogether it would be redundant to make 2 separate cards. This follows well enough that it shouldn't be immediately discarded. We've all been wondering about a "massive devour" effect.
