Frozengaia submission (Summer & Winter) - Bhleg https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=55187.msg1148291#msg1148291

Odd name, isn't it?
Bhleg (pronounced "blegg") is an ancient word, that means two things:
It can either mean a bright, shimmering spark, or it can mean the ashen remains of said spark.
In Spanish and French, they used the sparking of bhleg to create blanco and blanc, or white.
In English, we used the ashen remains of bhleg to create black.
Yes, black and blanco actually have the same origin. And this card plays on bhleg. It's not just a weird word.
The image art is actually just a recolour of the same image. You have a shining flash, and some dark ash.
(Rhyming not intended.)

This is the shimmering spark of bhleg. fuel it to create brilliant sparks of light.
Alas, they won't last forever. They'll be pretty and useful whilst they last, though.
This does exactly what it says, and thus does not need notes.

This is smoking remains of bhleg. The damage represents the spark dying out, and then smoldering away.
Note: Immortality goes away when freeze goes away. The creature cannot die whilst frozen this way, so it combos with spark.

Shouldn't you make the two different cards have two different names?

Probably.
It kinda ruins the resonance, though.
Bhleg is two things. To change the name on both would imply you have different bhlegs. You have different meanings of the same bhleg, different points of the same spark.

The water card's ability was just annoying to name and I struggle to think of a good way to name the water card that doesn't come out as a death card.

Seeing I'm being brutally ignored by superior beings more clandestine, I think I'll write a small essay on my cards. Yolo, right?
We'll talk about the important synergy:
The synergy is pretty weak, but it's there.
The fire card turns cards into sparks.
You can trap and permanently keep the sparks there, whilst getting some cheap damage.
Why would you want to do this?
Empathic bond, Chimera, a few other things. These cards' uses are a lot more subtle than the others.

The theme however is very strong. Very strong. I am proud. :3

The fire bhleg is a pretty simple ability, but look how many death triggers it has! It has five or four, and you're getting damage from it. So that's good, buffs death decks more. Cat is pretty bad anyway.

The water bhleg is a bit more fun. Its main combo is in a stall with flooding, as well as with the mentioned chimera and empathic bond combos. The fire bhleg is a fast way of doing it.

Your card formatting bugs me. And the text could be worded better.

How does Bhleg [Water] interact with Spark?
The freeze on Bhleg[Water] seems to be very excessive.

The reason why fire is to the left is because of how I use an enter for every new line on fire Bhleg's text, which made the entire thing push itself to the right.
The card text on water Bhleg has longer sentences, which is why it appears normal.
I don't think the card can be improved in terms of wording, though.

Water Bhleg would freeze and immortalise the creature instead of killing it.
Spark would be immortal, only for it to freeze and die the second... turn... Ooops.
We can make the water effect a status effect that stops the card dying whilst it's frozen. Done.

It's supposed to remain on the battlefield permanently, which is why it's 60 turns of freeze and immortal.  60 turns is shorter than infinite. But with adrenaline, you can have some fun.

I just dont understand these cards.
After longer writing i will recognize, why watur Blegh freezes and immortalizes for 60 turns.
You. And sand. Endless sand. Endless trillions tons of sand.
This endless power. which can kill you like insignificant bug.
This, is a power of :time...

If I replace "60 turns" with "forever", would that be easier to understand?
It's supposed to clog up the field. It has synergy with bond, chimera, and flooding.

It would make more sense than 60 turns.

Okay, I'll do that.
I just don't like it because it'll actually be 99 turns, not forever... Oh well.

The only point that your turn thing would make a difference would be if there was an Eternity Stall.

I'd prefer the freeze to actually be at a manageable level. Maybe 8 turns. Yes, the intent is lockdown, but if you want to keep them locked down, pay more upkeep.

Eternity stall and adrenaline. And OCD.
I don't like cards lying. If it says forever, it should be FOREVER, not "Essentially forever but it'll go away if x happens". Ah well, I can deal with it.

I do rather disagree with the freeze not being some absurdly high amount, though.I'm uncomfortable with anything lower than 15 turns.
The "upkeep" if we want to call it that is you have to kill the creature with it. Which isn't as easy as it sounds... Okay, it's still easy, but it's not like octopus easy.

...Although, 10 doesn't seem too bad. Yeah, actually, I'll put it at 10. Another issue I have is loosing track, which... Ew.

Anything else someone wants fixing first?
