A very interesting approach! This captures :life 's theme well and the mechanic is something I'd love to see in game, a pride of lions intimidating a swarm of scarabs into submission.

If the lion is buffed, does the chance to frighten still apply to ATK>9?
If the lion is antimattered, what happens to roar?

For balance, unupped seems to be a bit too strong-- I'd consider it to be directly superior to shrieker, and on par with auburn nymph-- less reliable CC, but it's mass CC and it has more attack.

Thank you.

Both of your questions are answered by the notes.

Shrieker is underpowered as a standalone card. If it's on par with Auburn Nymph, then I don't see a problem.

Hmm, I misworded that. Its utility is on par with auburn nymph (somewhat, it's hard to compare single target to mass). Its attack is superior, at 8 vs 4.

A followup to the first question is: If the unupped lion is buffed, are 9 ATK creatures affected?

So the only efficient and effective soft mass-CC we have is Sundial, and there's a good reason for that. Even if this was immaterial, 6 of 'em would allow one of 'em to pretty much always succeed. Since they're not immaterial, we can produce 23 of 'em (even in-element if need be). The only reason it's not obviously OP is because of its high cost. But as we know, high cost isn't a huge issue for a control deck.

If Dial wasn't in the game, we'd be able to add a few less efficient cards like these, but couple the two and I think we have too much unconditional CC in the game. It doesn't help that this has high HP and isn't a permanent (mixed sources of CC).

Also, a plain ol' Alpha Lion would fit just fine thematically. Emerald Mane sounds like a real eye-sore among the normal creatures in Life.

I've modified the card to only prevent attacks rather than stasising the creature. This puts in more in line with the idea behind the card.

The name is not the best fit for Elements, but I like it a lot.

its still a onesided reusable (rngbased but retriable with multiple lions) sundial- effect and we all know how op that card is. the stats are perfectly reasonable for the cost... if this were a creature with no abilty (yh life creatures get a discount, but compare this to jade dragon and green nymph (the other life creatures surviving lightning); dragons have no special ability and are at about the same effiency, nymph requires a use of its ability to keep up with the dmg efficiency and its ability isnt as strong). at first I thought it would only target a single creature which was perfectly fine, even a bit costly. but having an about 40% repeatable chance for each enemy creature is really strong. I think it needs about -2|-2 or -3|0, if you want to keep the ability the same, rn there are few creatures that are immune to an unbuffed lions ability, let alone a buffed ones and there is about next to no stat penalty for a very powerfull ability.

Chance to be Frightened has been lowered.

Unupped attack decreased by one. Upped cost increased by 1.
