And it's looking really close. You might be right, but the transition to the solid white line and the glow is nearly seamless(if there is even a seam visibly seperating the two) I just figured using a strong inside glow would replicate it better.

As for my conflicting suggestions in this thread as opposed to your own thread about the icon, I was just going with making it look more like an elements icon as opposed to a similar avatar style Zanz has. All of the elements are solid filled colors, so I was thinking that if the entire trident was a solid white, it might fit in better.

It might be better, but if you want to replace the white glow with something else (like I did with the Mark of Divinity; I replaced the white glow on the Zanz Trident with a black one) then solid edges are better. Glow on top of glow = blegh.

I get what you mean now. I'll try changing the black glow to a black border instead.

EDIT: Meh, too lazy. If I fix the Mark of Divinity, I'd have to fix the Mark of Void; but the Mark of Void has already been used in many places so it'd be a pain to update them all. Besides, some of the Marks have 3D effects while some don't; who says they all have to follow a uniform pattern? Void and Divine are special anyways.
To be or not to be, I can do both at once. Go learn quantum mechanics, n00b.

Well, i think what I was thinking was something that can only be done in photoshop. You get the shape and color it in. Then you slide the Fill Transparency to 0% and then add a stroke, inner glow, and outer glow. I'm trying to recreate the Zanz Trident too and I think i've just successfully nearly mimicked the glowing effects on the outer portions. I just need to adjust the actual shape some. when I get done with you, you are welcome to have it.

But which marks have a 3d effect? And I didn't say that had to all be similar. I just thought it might help it along more, since you said it was missing something.

But as for your Zanz Trident now, I think the outline/border you have on the outer portions are much too thick.
