This entire topic just keeps on proving to everyone why you're fabulous vrt. :3

On another note, I kind of forgot that it's actually called a shrieker. The current spore art doesn't quite do it justice since it's just standing there with its slightly spider-like legs on cracked dirt. Having a golden-yellowish earth creature would be a fabulous addition by the way (if majofa's card image doesn't prove this).

vrt, noticed you were using some oddly shaped brushes in that video- the ~ looking one and some splatter ones come to mind.  couple questions about them, is there a reason for using the ~ brush over the simple circle?  and is the splatter brush stock, or was it an add on from somewhere, or self customized?

Can you pinpoint the time I used the brush you described? The ~ shape brush, that is.

All my brushes, though, are a combination of royalty free and self-made ones.

a variety of brushes were used in the first 20-30 seconds, designing the ground and the clouds.  around 3:50 you used a multi-spot brush

Ah, I think I see what you mean. Those initial brushes are pretty common flat/round brushes. The ~-shape is the 'stroke preview' option in the brush menu.
