It does take quite a bit of time to make all the frames and convert it into 3D. Easiest way to deal with this is to do something else while waiting

To do more elaborate animation effect would take some time to do. If it was desired to have a spinning globe affect on a card, this is what is needed.
1 create a card image with name, cost, artist, card type, and text filled out. no uploaded image is required for this part. save
2 now in gimp you need the same number of copied layers of the card image as you have for your animation(spinning globe) i use 100 for the globe so i would need 100 for the card image.
3 now you need a good eye and patience for the next part. you have to copy each layer of the globe onto each coinciding layer of the card image.(after that take a break) save as a gif
then test it.

i can only imagine what this would look like.
