What about if I draw broken buildings and castles like this floating in the BG?

Note: Still trying to get the positioning right so DG doesn't cover everything. Maybe I have to make her smaller while still keeping her as the focus of the piece?
Maybe, or perhaps you could have the broken buildings just surrounding her? (Still pretty much up to you.)

Whatever you do, don't take from the focus. btw,
Amazing tutorial for hair. It's very very useful: http://psd.tutsplus.com/tutorials/painting/paint-realistic-hair/
It's realistic, but you can go over the shading using the burn tool for shadows, and the dodge tool for highlights to make the painting more realistic (/tip)

Ah that sounds very interesting and I like that.

Thank you, I will look into this as well and hopefully update soon. :)

Well, i'd say that you should make the picture twice in width, then leave DG to the left and procede to the background.
That way she doesn't cover everything and she is still the main object on your painting.

I have the proportions set for the picture to be perfectly sized for card creating. If I change the width, the height would have to be doubled as well.

When making a card there's nothing wrong with cropping the pic to the important stuff. But its looking good.

I made an attempt to mod the smoke note image, but something is wrong with the color palette.

Aw, that's unfortunate, I was looking forward to seeing what you could do with it.

Anyways, I believe I'm satisfied with this piece. I understand that I did not get to everyone's ideas/suggestions, but I don't want to shove anything more into this painting. I went with the floating rocks to keep the painting simple yet pleasing to the eye. I hope I was able to capture what you were looking for ZBlader. Your suggestion in itself has led me to learn much more about art, and I thank you for that.

I painted over the dragon and I thought covering it in pollen and moss would be kinda cool.
