Spark and Lightning have always looked like family, but I just realized that the artwork for Spark is actually used in Lightning. In fact, depending on the graphics software used to produce the effect, they could be the very same piece, with Spark as a bird's-eye view. Check it out.



What I think Zanz actually did was make the Spark art and then use that as a plane to cut across into the Lightning art.

Whoa... Seems like Spark was used as the "ground" in the artwork for Lightning!

And did you notice? The background of Dimensional Shield IS Lightning!

WHAT? Woha, never noticed, never.

Otherwise... Seemed obvius to me, no? i mean, you look at the lightning card and what do you see? spark. A disorted spark for the ground. Duh.

The background for Dimensional Shield is the same as Lightning, but without the Spark on the ground.

Lol, thanks to my endless years poring over every individual detail of the Aether cards, I've noticed this long before. There are tons of other parallels you can see, such as the Desert background for some Time cards being used underwater for some Water cards and such. :)

It seems the scratches on the Fate Egg are the same diamonds used on the Towers, too.

SG, there are a LOT more similarities. For example, the background for Death cards (the dried-up soil one) shows up in the background for a lot of cards.
