Aargh.. I don't know.. I think it lost a lot of it's awesomeness in that second version. My main beef with it is the smudged colors. Purple looks like it's gone through a copy machine.

I liked it more when it was more simple to be honest.

I dislike the moon maybe make less of the curve bits touching each other but that's just my opinion.

i wonder is them will make cards that take two types of quatoms to creat or make a new element like element plasma useing goo type mosters with acid and sticky abilitys

Well, I could always just add the sun and moon in the black and white version and be done with it. The black and white version looks more abstract, and in the eyes of some people that looks better.

Obviously this cannot be used as card art, because it's the cover art for our student agenda. But I posted it here just in case if anyone wanted to see it. The "version two" I posted above is perfectly usable, though.

Although there might be problems if my design actually gets chosen by my school. Some random person might come to Elements and say, "WTF, the art of this card is almost the same as my agenda cover!"

Really? You guys all think the uncolored version is better? To me the one with color and texture looks much nicer.

both versions look awesome i for one prefer the black/white contrast but it still looks pretty awesome in yellow purple

black white is too dull - and looking at it for a long time makes my eyes hurt due to the contrast
deffo the purple and yellow one looks much better - nice colours and detailed design - original too :L

Personally, I think that the colored version is beautiful, but probably doesn't look so well as an card artwork piece - I think it's the positioning of the sun, moon, and 'dual'-winged object that makes it seem more of a poster rather than a visual for a spell or creature (the final product makes me sad, because those words ruin the art completely ). If the sun/moon was closer to the Yin/Yang symbol, I think it'd work.

The black and white version is simple and clean, but it would be too dull for card art even with the added moon, sun, and sky effects. If anything, your 'Duality' art is super cool - I would LOVE to see this done in colors of red/blue, or  &  if you know what I mean.

One of the requirements for the submissions are that we can only use two colors plus black and white. So if the need arises, I can totally change the art to red and blue; but the picture is only good for Light and Darkness, because it doesn't have anything fiery or icy in it...

I know that in order for this to become usable as card art, I'd have to resize and edit it, to make it square. I'll do it on the weekend.

Oh, and if you guys want it to be really Elements-y, I can change the sun and moon for the Mark of Light and Mark of Darkness.

OK, version two of this thing...

I attached the small image, because the large image is a freaking 8.66 MB! I dunno, might be the huge bitmaps I used...

Anything else I can add? Please note that this is the version without text. The actual image that I'm submitting to the school will be a lot less empty, because there will be text saying "Sir Winston Churchill, Student Agenda, 2010 - 2011".

That pic is awesome, how long did it take you? What did you use? How did you do it? You should do Graphics tutorials on YT! :p
