I have to agree, I found the original to be pretty confusing at a first glance, but this is extremely easy to follow.  The passive ability inclusion is also a great idea which I wish would get added to the cards in game ASAP.

This is a pretty good redesign, much more simple. but now I feel that the creature stats interfere with the image too much.

I like it. it might be better, however, if you made the stats a little smaller so it doesn't interfere with the image so much. Also, in elements, the phoenix card ability under the card is called "phoenix". It may look weird because the name is phoenix, but I think it's better than "ashes from death" because it sticks to what it says under the card in the game.

Very good point. I haven't used Phoenix in a long time, so i forgot if it even said anything under it XP I'll fix that in a bit.
