deviantART's servers are based in the USA.

They're under very strict state laws.
So long and thanks for all the fish!

Just because the Server is in the USA the LAW of the United States affects no citizens of other states...

My intention was not to start a new discussion about that, because actually i understand your reasoning VRT. But the other participants had some flags from countries i have to admit that i have no idea about their law...

Actually, it does. Since they're hosted there, the local laws apply to the contents. It's the same as driving a car; when you're in a different country, you still stick to the maximum speed allowed there, not to what you're used to back home.
So long and thanks for all the fish!

I'd think it's be fine to use the art in the forums as long as it is not used outside of it (i.e in the game) for any thing that gives you any gains but y I can see where you're coming from and to be honest you're probably right about it being against the law but would you (as an artist) be mad if someone used your art on the forums for an idea (with you being crwdited and it not leaving this forum in any way)?

I don't know if you would be mad as this is an actual question I'm asking not one where I' m expecting you to say no as that may be what you see when you read the question but that is not intended.

Posting somebody else's artwork on a forum is hardly theft, if you state that it was by them, not you. It isn't stealing their idea or anything like that, because all you're doing is putting it on a website under their name, when you originally found it on a website under their name. It doesn't make it any more accessible to the general public, and it's not being used to make money or anything like that, it is just being used as a reference to their work. It would be the equivalent of posting a link to the person's original artwork. Putting the artwork in the actual game would be a different matter. In this case, the artwork is being used rather than just linked. I think that posting pictures from somebody else in the card art section of this forum is OK so long as the artist's permission is gained if the artwork is to be added to the game itself, and you post a link to their original artwork post in your topic.
