My art is on there, I sell it. Next to that, devianART has its own print sale program.

Second of all, as Bloodshadow elucidated, money is substantial. Feelings are not.

He makes money out of art. Is that substantial enough for you?

Third of all, my couch can only exist in one place at any one time. An image off the internet can be used by someone else, but you STILL HAVE IT.

BUT he won't have the money he deserved.

Fourth of all, ideas and art go hand in hand. A play can be brilliantly written, amazingly witty, and beautifully dramatic, but if the audience only sees a curtain for the duration of the play, they WILL be bored. Sight stimulates thought.

Bad luck. If the director can't find good actors, he only has himself to blame. If you can't fin/make/buy art, this doesn't allow you to steal it.

Then, does deviantART have any ways to prevent people from taking the art illegally? If they really sell art for real world money, then they should have some sort of anti-stealing script or something, because it's just too plain easy to steal art that costs real money.

yes, it's the LAW.

EDIT: deviantART also provides humongous watermark options, but they detract from the quality of the art. It's sad enough that people steal art, do they have to stop others from looking at art as it was intended?

And yet, the person who created it STILL HAS IT. Before, the rightful owner held it. Now, 2 people have it - the original owner and an innocent creative soul, wishing to make an ONLINE COMMUNITY a little brighter by implanting a small idea within it, never to venture outside the topic of "Card Ideas", let alone the forum.

Realize that he still makes money. He just doesn't make money from 1 person.

With, of course. But there's so many free to use art there, as well as artists willing to let you use their work or even make new art for you; why bother using stuff that's not?

Then how can you believe that obtaining things without paying is not theft? Illegally downloading movies is cool too, I suppose?
