This happened to me twice in a row just now, so I'm pretty sure it's a bug. I had a mutant out (one time it was a time nymph I think and the other was a minor vampire), the AI poisoned it, I TU'd it, and the mutant came out being the same in every way.

As far as I know, TU'ing a mutant is supposed to/usually increase the stats and usually changes the ability.

tried this bug and it was the same...when i TUed it again it was not the same..maybe if you TU it the first time you get the same stat/ability/creature but if you TU it the second time it will be not the same anymore..

my point is its really a bug..it gets really annoying somehow..

When you mutate a creature, it gets a little "mutation" notice under the :time Delayed part. Poisoning the creature replaces that with "poisoned". The same thing happens when you quint a mutant with deja-vu: the resulting mutant will be exactly the same. Also noted in  this thread (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,9039).

No it doesn't.

I wasn't able to duplicate it--in trainer or live game.  Does it just happen randomly?

Or was the mutation burrowed at some point?

When you TU, the portrait always stays the same, so the variables are the stat increases, ability and cost of ability.  The chance for no stat increase is 1/25, the chance for same ability is 1/19, and same ability cost is 1/2.  So the overall chance of having the exact same is 1/950 (1/475 if it was an ability without a cost).  Those chances assume no weighting.

Well it happened two games in a row. And one time it was with a minor vamp mutant and the other was either some type of dragon or a time nymph.

Huh, now that I check, it doesn't. And TU-ing a poisoned creatures generates a new mutant ???
