Yes, this is intentional. If a status effect is applied to a voodoo, you're opponent's weapon gets that status

You can also freeze your opponents weapon, poison your opponent, and other cool things.  I've yet to look up how it acts with adrenaline (kind of my job), but I'm doing that now for you ;D

I'm pretty sure adrenaline does nothing. Although, how many actions does a 0 attack adrenalined creature have? Could be interesting with poison. If that doesn't work, eclipse would help.
