If you let your time expire the GotP discard card damage isn't dealt.

Important to note this only happens in PvP, not against PvE (since you have no timer)

Interesting.

Zanz specifically put the auto-discard in to counter an exploit I pointed out to him, so I'm guessing it doesn't function exactly like discarding normally.

I will check back on this later, but I doubt you're lying.
