Odd, but intended. http://elementscommunity.org/wiki/Adrenaline#Misc_Tables
Is there a explanation to them?
Lets look at the number of attacks an Adrenal creature and an Adrenal Accelerating creature have.
An adrenal creature has 4 attacks if it starts with -3 to 3 attack (excluding 0 which gets 5).
An adrenal accelerating creature has 4 attacks if it starts with -9 to -3 attack (excluding -8 which gets 5).
Q: What is the attack of an adrenal accelerating creature that gets 4 attacks after the 3rd attack?
A: -3 to 3 attack. Creatures with this much attack after their 3rd attack are granted a 4th attack by adrenaline.
Q: What is the attack of an adrenal accelerating creature that gets at least 4 attacks after the 4th attack? Why do such creatures with -8 starting attack get 5 attacks?
Note: The wiki is inaccurate about the final attack of adrenal accelerating creatures with -4 to -3 attack. The correct final attack is 4 and 5.
A: Adrenal accelerating creatures that get 4 but not 5 creatures have 1 to 4 attack after their 4th attack. Adrenal accelerating creatures that get 5 attack have 0 attack after their 4th attack. Only creatures with 0 attack after their 4th attack get a 5th attack.
Q: Why do some of the final granted attacks have weird values?
A: Adrenal accelerating creatures have 2 relevant attack values. There is the
attack value after the 2nd to last attack and the
attack value during the last attack. Sometimes the
first value grants an attack that the
second value would not normally have granted. In these cases the game calculates the damage based on the rules the
second value has as if it would have granted the attack.
Weird 5th attack
Attack values between 1 and 3 have each attack deal damage equal to the attack stat. When the
4th attack is 0 the
5th attack is 2. Thus the unnatural 5th attack with 2 attack deals damage equal to the attack stat. Aka 2 damage.
Weird 4th attack
Attack values between 4 and 8 have each attack deal 1/3rd of the attack stat less than the previous attack. When the
3rd attack is 2 or 3 the
4th attack is 4 or 5. Thus the unnatural 4th attack with 4 to 8 attack deals damage equal to the attack stat minus 3/3rds of the attack stats. Aka 0 damage.
Weird 3th attack
Attack values between 9 and 15 have each attack deal 2/3rds of the attack stat less than the previous attack. When the
2nd attack is 7 or 8 the
3rd attack is 9 or 10. Thus the unnatural 3rd attack with 9-15 attack deals damage equal to the attack stat minus 4/3rds of the attack stats. Aka -3 damage.
Weird 2nd attack
Attack values between 16+ have each attack deal 3/3rds of the attack stat less than the previous attack. When the
1st attack is 14 or 15 the
2nd attack is 16 or 17. Thus the unnatural 2nd attack with 16+ attack deals damage equal to the attack stat minus 3/3rds of the attack stats. Aka 0 damage.
Overdrive has different numbers but follows the same rules.
So Adrenal Overdrive Voodoo Dolls.
0 attack gets permission to attack (provided it has enough attack when it tries to attack)
It gains 3 attack. This is enough to let it attack.
The first adrenal attack for 3 attack is at full power.
It deals 3 damage.
3 attack gets permission from adrenaline to have a 2nd attack.
It gains 3 attack. Total of 6 now.
The 2nd adrenal attack for 6 attack is at 2/3rds power.
It deals 4 damage.
6 attack gets permission from adrenaline to have a 3rd attack.
It gains 3 attack. Total of 9 now.
9 attack normally does not have a 3rd adrenal attack.
If 9 attack did have a 3rd adrenal attack it would be at -1/3rd power.
It deals -3 damage.
9 attack does not get permission from adrenaline for a 4th attack.
