during normal play, a creature dies immediately when it reaches 0 hp,
it doesn't die at the end of the turn, so the common sense dictates that a creature with 0 hp dies immediately.

is dying a passive ability? O_o

I think it follows a simple rule:
HP change ==> check HP; if HP <0, creature dies.

so if you use thunder on a spark it would die immediately.
But it also checks at the end of the turn aswell, thats why sparks die first after the have attacked.

I think.
