Solar shield does not convert damage by some creatures [unconfirmed]

I was playing as follows:

Mark = Aether
Permanent = Solar Shield (reads: blocks 1 physical damage and converts absorbed damage into [solar] quanta.)

Opponent:
Mark = Life/Green
Creatures: toad, cockatrice, green dragon

1) creatures attack me
2) solar shields blocks 1 damage each
3) solar shield does not convert the damage blocked into solar quanta

Do you have a Sanctuary in play?

Are you sure you didn't have Sanctuary out when this happened?

Just like Dissipation Shield that doesn't work when Sanctuary is on your side, this function of the Solar Shield should be disabled as it changes your quanta pool.

I'm not sure if I had sanctuary on or not, I'll have to test again and see.
