ive seen this exact bug a number of times.

AI plays sundial, then protects it.
the protection mark stays when the sundial runs out, and the next AI card that lands in that spot receives the protection as well....

This and the Quantum tower bug have both caused me to lose games.
very frustrating

Haven't seen this bug before.

I was playing a t50 game. The AI stupidly played protect artifact on his sundial. When the sundial expired and self destructed, the symbol was still on that card slot. It later played a graveyard in that slot and the graveyard was protected by the phantom symbol (I couldn't target it with my pulverizer)

I'm sure. I was watching.

And a lot of bugs in this game only beneficially affect the AI- like the exponential quantum from QTs

Or they could just wait and play it on what they wanted to protect in the first place!

Hurm. Are you sure the AI didn't REprotect the graveyard? The little immaterial golden icon has stayed on a card slot plenty of times for me and it has always just been a visual error. The permanent i play in that slot has always been destroyable. Maybe it works differently for the AI.

I've seen this too, lol. It seems to only happen with the AI, as most human players would never put a PA on their Sundials, unless they specifically thought of abusing this coding error.

My thoughts exactly.

The question isn't whether or not the icon stays, it's whether or not the permanent is destroyable.

"The little immaterial golden icon has stayed on a card slot plenty of times for me and it has always just been a visual error. The permanent i play in that slot has always been destroyable."

This can easily be tested. Just not by me.. I'm too lazy.

Just to reiterate, is there any human exploit potential?  Because when you play a permanent, there is a certain order of the slots that your cards are played in, so you could do this to, say, always have a protected sundial (since Seism likes to torch non-upped dials, for instance).  You could also put down the protect on a dial in the early game instead of throwing it away when you get a bad draw.  Anyway, the first thing to establish is if this only works for the AI or if it also works for us lowly humans...
