My theory about reflection is that if it deals direct damage immediately and isn't a creature or weapon, it's reflected- since the poison spell inflicts poison and not damage, it isn't reflected (plus you could make the case that "ignite" is a spell given to unstable gas, like reverse time for eternity). Plus, if poison was affected, what would happen with chrysaora? Would the shields reflect its poison ability too?
As for the problem with procrastination, I've never heard that before- how much do you remember about what was happening? You already said none of your creatures were antimattered or momentumed, what about adrenaline? What creatures were on the AI's side? And so on- it'll help to know exactly what was going on if we're to re-create the problem.
