Quantum Tower Bug
This post is intended to educate the players and inform moderators/admins of the Quantum Tower bug in Elements.

What is the Quantum Tower bug?
The Quantum Tower (QT) bug is a bug in the game that only occurs on the AI's side. The text of QT clearly states that when you play it, it should generate 3 random quanta, and then the 3 random at the end of turn per usual. Instead, what happens when the AI plays a QT is that it adds 3 random quanta for each tower in the stack as the tower comes into play.

For example: you are playing against a rainbow deck in the weekly top 50 that uses QTs. On turn 5, it has 6 QT in play at the beginning of the turn. When it plays its next QT, it will add 21 random quanta: 3 for the one it just played, and 18 (3x6) for the 6 that were already in play.

As you can see, this lets the AI accumulate quanta at an alarming rate, and lets it play practically anything it draws. The most notable to abuse the QT bug are two Fake God decks, Rainbow and Chaos Lord. Rainbow has a ton of QT and can easily draw up to 10 cards per turn due to Electrum Hourglass, meaning that he can have roughly 50 of each quanta in a matter of a few turns. Chaos Lord can abuse this bug as well, albeit not as effectively, through the use of Dissipation Field. Because of the massive amount of quanta generated through the bug, it can be troublesome to fight through Chaos's shield.

This bug is well known, at least to those of us who have had the misfortune of fighting an AI rainbow deck. Thanks jmizzle7 for the great post.

It pretty much makes T50 unplayable now since most of the decks I've battled have been rainbows. I second (or maybe 915th) the motion to have it fixed.  This is not a complaint but rather encouragement ... Zan we know you can do it!

In the mean time if anyone needs further explanation or thinks the screenshots could be photoshopped I will attest to their validity. I just lost 6 games in a row in T50. All of them were rainbow decks. And all of them had over 100 quantum produced by turn 5. Hide behind a dis. shield and there's no way to tear through it.

I'm bumping this topic up cos i'm sick of all the "Rainbows are unbeatable!!!!111", "How to beat a Rainbow" and all the crap that is fulling the forum...

T50 is now bloated of rainbows (wich is the only way to beat gods), and they're hard to beat ONLY due to this bug, while they would be teared apart by any mono-dark or mono-fire without it.

The main point of this thread is the fact that although there may have been an intended boost in QT strength for the god decks (I have heard rumors to this effect), the coding which increases QT production when played is universal, thus bleeding the effect into the top 50 AI. As the main strategy of many up-and-comers in Elements is to work the way up the ladder of difficulty, this has caused what I will call a larger-than-intended gap between level 3 and top 50, forcing some players to mindlessly plug away at level 3 out of necessity.

If the QT boost was intended for Rainbow and Chaos Lord, that's all well and good. Please fix it for all other formats of play. If it wasn't, please fix it entirely. Thank you!

I'm glad this was bumped. I've stopped farming Top 50, as this bug is the single reason why I can't come close to consistantly winning. I can not tell you how many times I've seen Mind Flayers or Otyughs on the very first turn because of this bug. It NEEDS to be fixed, and I believe that it should be top priority, or at least pretty high up on the list.

THIS is why the bug needs to be fixed. Below is a screenshot of a Top 50 game. I went first, and that is my opponent's field after their FIRST TURN. This is NOT the first time this has happened, either, but it is the first time I was bright enough to remember to take a screeny of it.

Looking at the other cards in play, it is most likely a mutant from the Fallen Druid.

Please, let's not go and necro threads like this that clearly have no apparent connection to the current incarnation of the game.  If you have a question like this in the future, copy the thread into elements chat and ask someone in there, they will almost always know the answer.

I would ask a forum moderator to please lock this thread now, since it cannot possibly add anything more to the community.

Please use common sense and actually read a thread and its timestamps before commenting on it. This particular bug hasn't existed since v1.14, which was almost a year and three months ago.
