IF you could see your back row of creatures this wouldnt be an issue for me, but sense you cant the only way to see what mutated creatures abilities are in the back row is to use them.

So zanz deffinitly need to rethink his stance, because it would be ALOT easier to give a refund. Though this still wouldnt let us see attack/defence.

... which seems a bit mean, as currently attempting to use the skill is often the only way to now what it does and/or what it can target (due to card stats not being visible for the top row, etc), so it's not like the mistake is always the player's.

This was on purpose. Zanzarino made it so that when you cancel a skill, you don't get the quantum back, and you can't re-use the skill for the rest of the turn. He says it's the cost of making a mistake.

When you cancel, you are not always refunded your quantum. For example, when you use trident's ability, but instead of hitting a target, you press cancel, you don't get the quantum you spent back.

Sounds like a cop out.  It doesn't apply to spells.  And I think the forum well capture the issues with not being able to see the back row creatures.  Nothing against Mr. Jellyfish.  He holds my highest respect.

The jury is still out on the aforementioned Zanzarino, If I don't get a 2nd rare soon, I shall be requesting a few days of my life back...

My opinion is that real issue, the larger issue, is that you can't see your creatures in the back.  Even then attack power / toughness health of the creatures are important.

LOL, about 3 games against an Elder after posting the above, I got a Fahrenheit.  No conspiracy theories here, though.
