No starting hand [confirmed]

So I was PvPing dueling a friend, and when the game started he played one quantum pillar. Then it showed that I drew an amethyst pillar, but when it became my turn, my whole hand was blank:

I can attest that this was the first turn, and on my side it looked like normal

I have occasionally seen the "draw a card" animation at the beginning of my turn, only to have no new card appear in my hand.  This happened either today or yesterday (I forget), in a classic upped Life rush vs AI3.

But in mine, I had no cards in my starting hand to begin with. Did this only start happening after 1.26?

No, for me it's been happening for months, but rarely.  It's never made a difference between winning and losing a game.

How do you win a game if you can't play a single card because there's nothing in your hand from the very beginning...?

I was only talking about the single-draw vanish I've experienced, which has never happened more than once in a game (several times overall) and a single draw lost hasn't been enough to kill me in those instances.

I confirm the bug stated in the OP. Last tourney there were some issues with people starting with completely empty hands as well.

Anyone know a solution besides just quitting?

I do, but it requires tiki torches, a picnic blanket with a Zanz-avatar design, and the blood of a virgin nymph.  Also you may want to heavily bribe the local authorities.
