This has happened 3 or 4 times aleready. I keep winning pillars when I spin. I thought that pillars shouldn't even show up there.

Quantum Towers are treated as non-pillars, and if you're fighting top50 these get downgraded to Quantum Pillars.
Other pillars can also show up, but much less often. They only get included if the first ten attempts to find a non-pillar failed.
