I was using a RoL hope deck against the FG Fire Queen.  I had about 16 RoL on field and one Light Dragon.  The FG had a lobotomized flying Eagle's Eye, 6 lobotomized Firefly Queens and one Eagle's Eye in the weapon slot.  It was like turn 6 or so.  The god was at ~100 health, I was at ~70 or so. 

The FG shot my dragon with his Eagle's Eye and I instantly lost. 

This is the second time I have seen this instant loss, I thought nothing of it until it happened a second time.

No, I lobotomized her Fire queens before she ever got out a firefly.  She had no fire quanta at all.

The only possible reason could be fire lance, looking at her deck.
It would probably be easier if you could provide a screenshot of it happening.

By that time, FQ usually has tons more creatures out...at least 4-5 flying weapons and bonds in addition to the lots of queens.
Did the loss happen before the turn of FQ was over or after? (did the ferals heal her and then you lost when your turn started, or did you lose immediately after the dragon was damaged?)

Hehe, this makes me nostalgic. I used to be shocked by a sudden loss from her, just because I was focused on other things. Decay, not so much. It was very clear he was building quanta. This does look like deckout, though.

I lost right after the dragon was damaged.

I did not deck out (only 6 turns into it).  She only had 7 creatures, and no fire quanta.  Her turn was still in progress, she had not gained quanta yet nor healed from feral bonds.

It would be irrelevant to provide a screen-shot.  All it would be is the "you lose" screen.  I couldn't very well anticipate what happened and take a screenshot before.

Her killing you or you decking out are not the only two non-bug possibilities. You might have also somehow really quickly initiated the quit game box and clicked quit.
