Hello there,

Didn't see a thread about this so I thought I might point it out.

With my FFQ build I need a good regen to beat the opponent, which is often the case against AI 3.
If I currently have 90 HP left, I will beat the opposition the next round, and I will regen well over 10 HP, it sometimes happens that my regen isn't fast enough.
When I beat the AI, my regen only had the time to heal me up to 98 HP, leaving me without my Elemental Mastery. What is up with this? Shouldn't the game wait for all my actions to take place before ending the game and deciding who is the winner?

This is happening to me too with killing AI before the heals from Empathic Bond finish ticking.

It may be that damage gets processed before heals due to some cards returning damage done as health, but the game engine sees a win if Enemy HP <= 0, even if there is healing remaining in the "buffer" that would trigger mastery.

The game is over the very second you, or your opponent, is down to 0 hp. It's intended this way.

So I guess what you are saying is that because the game's win condition is a state based effect/check of "Is HP <= 0?", that if you wish to attempt EM by regen to maximize your HP pool since I believe the EM condition is HP >= 100. By increasing HP size you avoid "wasted" regen ticks, the ticks that simply fall off when you are at the HP cap. This scenario is assuming that Elemental Mastery is a HP>=100 flag AND NOT HP=MaxHP, is that correct?

Elemental Mastery is a victory at full HP, whatever that happens to be at the time.

This is a close relation of the attack animation family of bugs (though AFAIK this situation specifically is intended behaviour), which are based around the way that the game checks for state-based effects like "being at 0 health" and so on.

Basically you have to make sure that you're at full health or nearly full health when you win in order to achieve it, if you're going for the Empathic Bond method. I personally pack a Miracle in my deck for this very reason: if you are at low health, it basically guarantees that you will heal to full on the turn that you win since the creature delivering the killing blow will heal you the final point at the same time.
