Extermely small Miracle bug, probably a faulty wording on card[not a bug] https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=15808.msg202691#msg202691

Most people won't even notice it.

So I was already at full health, but I wanted to dump my hand anyways, so I Miracled. (Don't know why, weird thing about me) And instead of healing me for 99 as I thought, it made my health 99, actually reducing it by 1. I think that maybe Zanzarino was lazy and just changed it to set it at your max health minus 1 rather than have it HEAL you for max health minus 1.

Anyways, so this was against Neptune and I had an early Aflatoxin so he only got out 4 abyss crawlers, 2 were frozen, and 2 were antimattered. And there was an octopus. Not really a bug, since most people won't Miracle at full health, just pointing out something I noticed. It cost me an EM  :'(, but I won 2 shockwaves so I'm not complaining.  :P

I've noticed this occur several times myself.  The reading on the card says to heal yourself to full health minus one, but I prefer to think of it as "set your HP to full health minus 1" for this very reason; yes it's logical to assume that your damage will go down to -1 full health based on how the card works, but in this sense you're actually inflicting 1 damage to yourself.  Odd indeed.

I bet it sucks to lose EM just to a minor bug, huh?

I do not believe this is a bug.  I'll leave it unlocked as I don't know otherwise.

You mean, it was intended for the card to set the hp at 99? The card does say, "HEAL for your maximum health minus one."

It doesn't automatically reset to 99. If you use Stone Skin or SoD, then you'll go up in health, and Miracle will go to that new max, -1. I guess this is intended, but people weren't supposed to play this at max health, now were they?

It doesn't say "HEAL for your maximum health minus one.", it says "heal yourself TO maximum health minus 1" So if your health is already max it will heal -1 to achieve the maximum health minus 1. It is weird as it actually does damage, but it's no bug.

Agree with people saying it's not a bug. It's not. It heals to max health. and then minuses one. Regardless of how much health you have. So unless you have some healing, don't use miracle when you are full health.

Looks like the general consensus is this is intentional behavior.
