As I understand it, web ability removes flying passive ability from a creature.  However, creatures are still able to use dive ability after being webbed.

(Maybe the wrong place to post this, but it seems like a bug with dive functioning when the creature is no longer flying).

Not a bug. Dive and Airborne are in no way connected.

Just to toss in my two cents on why the current setting makes sense: it's entirely possible to use improve and get a non-airborne creature with dive.

I've gotten grabroid with dive that way :P.
