The sounds associated with damage are separate samples, so there is no such a problem as too loud volume.
Even if it was so, Zanz could simply cap the volume.
And even if they were not separate samples, and he couldn't 'for some weird reason' cap the volume, he could turn the sound back once the danger is over.
