I log out while having arena lights (consecutive matches) and when i log in again, the lights are gone

Yeah, definitely intentional. Otherwise you could just save with every win and reload back when you lose to prevent your "win streak" from being broken.

you can't save here, and if you leave in the middle of a match you lose automatically, so you would still lose the streak in any case

Not exactly, but I won't elaborate on that loophole in the mechanic of which the game saves.
