Recently I was testing my bless/vanadium warden arena deck; I had purple nymphs in my own deck while testing. If I antimattered a blessed warden, ALL of the enemy wardens would ignore my units in favor of spamming Guard on the antimattered one. When I antimattered them as well, their "attacks" started giving bonus HP to the first warden, so not only were they wasting their CC, they were also toughening up the target they were CCing.
I think I've seen arctic octopus do this as well, but am less sure. Definitely works with the wardens.
