You can see that the number of cells goes from 5->9. Thus not all cells produced cells. None were lobo'd and none were frozen. It was more obvious in the beginning where it went from 2->3 but I didn't notice it until it went from 3->5. (http://imageplay.net/)

No.

I've had this happen when Skeletons were created after some creature was killed and it appeared on the bottom row instead.  Not sure what caused it, but I would assume this is a similar case.

Perhaps you misunderstand the situation. The AI5 afla'd my virus (pet). I kept the cell because i realized it'd actually help me take down the bonewall. The top right cell generated 1 cell. Then it just stopped generating cells.

To be honest, I completely missed your text because of the little space between the two pictures you had posted; I assumed you had only posted 2 screenshots ::)

However now that you've fully explained the situation, it sounds like one of many reported issues involving Aflatoxin'd Virus.  This type of issue has been reported before and may have been explained thoroughly on a different thread; I do not know the cause of this problem.

In my experience, Malignant Cells sometimes do not replicate.  I often go from having 2 on one turn to having 3 on the next.

Could just have been a flicker-glitch, like how I sometimes see the Silence bubble next to my Mark upon winning a game.

The AI promptly killed it with Pandamonium, so I can't confirm if it had lobo. But, I do think that the creature had lobo.

Even with mind flayer, the skill name is psionic wave. But most probably johannhowitzer is right - it may just a flicker glitch.

A cell that is created during the attack phase does not produce a cell.

2nd. Have you been able to prove this with a rig in the Trainer?
