How about when the creature infected by the virus dies, two viruses appear on your side of the field? (That's how viruses work, right?)
No. when a virus dies it just dies.
I believe you misunderstood what kintar meant. When the virus-infected-creature would die, it would give you new generation of viruses - just like viruses replicate themselves in their life cycle.

I actually really like that idea, but I'd boost that mechanism even further. I think it should generate N new viruses, where N=maximum health of virus-killed-creature: Photon -> 1 new (Retro)Virus, and Light Dragon -> 12 new (Retro)Viruses.
:o Now that would be something.
that would prove to be quite OP.... then virus would be the ultimate CC
What exactly makes you say that it would be OP? Sure that thing would buff Virus|Retrovirus greatly and the card cost should probably be increased, but would the ability itself be better than all these: Otyugh, RoF, Eternity, Aflatoxin, Antimatter, :entropy Nymph, and Permafrost Shield?

well, it's not OP if u increase the cost...
but if u don't, after one plague with a retro virus.. u end up with like 10 on ur field, that's 10 plagues, for free practically...
TEN FREAKING PLAGUES!!! and it's gets more and more due to its effect, combine that with a bone wall (and some SoG's), and yeah... practically invincibility

That virus generating card would be honestly a perfect fix.
I always thought that creatures that infected other creatures (Virus, Bloodsucker, Grey Nymph, and Toadfish [NOT Pufferfish]) should get something called Toxic, in which the devouring creature would be afflicted by Aflatoxin, rather than Poison. Upon death, the disease they obtain from the creature they swallow would grow into something much more destructive as a whole. Creatures causing poison/having venom (Scorpions, Chrysaora, Pufferfish, Flying Arsenic) would still retain their poisonous passive skill.
I find the idear of toxicity/disease rather interesting. However, viruses do not infect their host 100% of the time. May be a non-upgraded card could be 40% and an upgraded one 80%. Another possibility would be for the creature to be afflicted by a  malus or lose its ability, may be provisorily when non-upgraded and permanently when upgraded.

Aflatoxin swarm are pretty hard to unleash.

I think it would help it a bit if upon sacrificing a virus infected with aflatoxin, it leaves a cell.

Simple soft buff for two underused cards.

Help one mildly underused  card. This would completely get rid of the point of aflatoxin.

I don't understand.

What I meant :
-you cast aflatoxin on one of your virus
-you sacrifice it in order to poison creature
-as it die, it leaves a malignant cell on its place (as it should happen as stated)

It could even be considered like a bug no acting so.

Ah, okay. I misunderstood originally.
I don't hate the idea, but it might be a little overpowered with retrovirus.

Even this thread is old. I have an interesting buff for the Virus / Retrovirus making them more useful.

Virus: 1/1 Infect:Sacrifice Virus to inflict 1 damage per round to a target creature or to the opponent player.

Retrovirus: 1/1 Epidemic: Sacrifice Retrovirus to inflict 1 damage per round to all enemy target creatures and to the opponent player.

This makes it more unique, more useful and different to the plaque spell. Most players are not using these cards because there are better alternatives around than Virus/Retrovirus.

From http://elementscommunity.org/forum/buff-this-card!/read-this-first-10223/

You need to state your reasons for a buff. Personally it's fine as it is, and honestly retrovirus is quite powerful too.

I miss something in the poll: It's fine as it is now. No buffs needed.
