Suggestion: Leave Trident alone, make Poseidon able to target any stack.
^ Think this is the best option.
If Trident | Poseidon is given the ability to target any stack, or even shards, it will be more powerful than some of the other weapons, and be used more widely. I think it is wise to limit is uses a little bit.

Possibly even a cost increase.

Definently make it be able too target shards, but haven't shards been nerfed enough already?

I'd lean towards a simple +1 Damage myself.

I use this weapon quite seldom. :water/ :earth are not good duo partners. Rainbow decks have better weapons. I know a few decks, which could use it. Earthquakes are normally better , because they are faster. However, Trident/Poseidon sometimes defeated my deck.
I´d like a change of the ability. Ideas for that:
- Effect of  Winter  (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,17926.0.html)(chance to freeze weapon)
- freezes Permanents (no shield/weapon) for 1 turn. Maybe also shards. If stacked, then the first one.

This card, if you get it early on in a rainbow is pretty good in terms of denial. The problem is that it's terrible in mono :water.

That said, I voted for +1 dmg.

change effect cost to  :water for 3-4 and make it able to kill 2 stackable permanents.

I voted to destroy stackable permanents. I dont sure if that would make this card OP, but Im pretty sure that it wouldnt be very much stronger than Pulvy. If not weaker.

Would still be weaker than Pulvy because the synergy from Earth-Water is far weaker than the Synergy from Gravity-Earth.

If they were to be able to destroy shards and bone walls then everyone would start using Tridents. Lets not forget how good earthquake/quicksand.

....and this is at least 3 quantum more than an Earthquake and a duo, which makes it harder to set up and slower than the actual spell. Even with an improved ability it doesn't belong in every deck given the decentish (but element-limited) amount of PC/Denial ingame.

I support 1 lower quantum cost for the ability, as even with 2 it requires constant input of Earth, and I find there is minimal synergy between Earth and Water, making it a hard card to use to being with.

I don't think this card needs a buff. It's great as it is! at least in a rainbow strategy.

I Think that the reason this card is so little used has nothing to do with it's impact on the battlefield.
the abilety to cast severaal earthquakes with one card is not to be underestimated.
No, the reason is that water and earth have little synergy.
there are no good  :water :earth decks. That's why so litle use it.

The sollution should be to buff" the synergy between  :earth :water rather than to buff this single card.
in fact, buffing this card by lowering it's cost or making it target shards would change nothing. It would make decks that allready use it more powerfull yes.
but it doesn't increase the number of diferent decks that use it, just because other than a rainbow strategy there are no possebilities to support it decent.
