What about making the card colourless when upgraded?  If it cost something like 1 // 1  that would both make the unupped version cheaper for air and give at least a weak version of CC to everyone.  You could further buff it by adding some sort of effect if you had an air mark, like making a spark // ball lightning.

For a little buff you could add +1life for every damage done

...or the sum of the damage dealt to creatures could be dealt to the opposite player (-> max. -20 health).

As some of you may have noticed, I have not been adding any more ideas to the poll. This is simply because since Thunderstorm is so flexible it has been recommended that it be changed in so many different ways, which is unfeasible for any to read, and for me to add.

For the card itself, I personally support this idea, an interesting mechanism:

1. It does 1 damage for every Thunderstorm that's been played that game, including itself.  First Thunderstorm works as is, but subsequent ones are more powerful.
