what if you got  :air when the steam counters got removed? I think I heard someone suggest that
I support this. Instead of a simple cost or damage change, throw an additional ability at the Steam Machine.

LOL! Unstable Gas + Shockwaves are obvious.

LOL! Unstable Gas + Shockwaves are obvious.
Unstable gasses my be too expensive to power from just this card.  As far as shockwaves, you already hav access to fire lances, ice lances, congeal, rage elixer.  The deck is hard enough to put together already, addeing air will make it worse.

If steam machine gained 1   :air quantum for every charge i loses it would be nice for the FFQ decks.

I've been tinkering with steam machine in my new rainbow stall, and I have to say its quite good.  Better than I thought.  It definately works better in a stall deck than as a featured damage dealer.  I recant my statment that his card sucks.

I believe it is fine. For two fire you are increasing its attack 3.5 per turn. Which is extremely powerful! Yes other cards get 2 attack for 1 so it looks like you are getting less for your money, but you are getting more now as opposed to more later, which in this game is very, very important!
