Yes, the upgrade doesn't reduce the quanta required.  No, that does not mean the upgrade is not a significant buff.  No, it would not necessarily be a bad thing even if it was not a buff.  Changing the quanta required to one type matters a lot to non rainbow decks.  The quanta is also shifted from part for one effect and part for a second, to NONE for one effect and all for the second.  You can use sundial without draw, and in that case, this is a buff from one cost to none.

Also, before any more threads of this sort:  An upgrade does not need to improve a card in every way.  Thank you.

I vote that it stays in play for 2 turns!

Oh wait!
While you're at it can we remove about 15 FG's and dumb the AI down some so the win rate can be ~80% again?

Seems like a perfect plan!

I already made a thread on sundial is this forum section. The general consensus was that it doesn't need a buff.

Hmm...

I was kind of thinking about this again, because I think it IS a slight bit underpowered.

I just thought it might make sense and be a reasonable buff if, say, the cost stayed at 1 :time, the draw was  1 :light, and th effect was to delay all creatures for one turn/delay all your opponent's creatures for one turn.

This might be a pretty big buff, but I think it's enough to make it a particularly good card again without being quite so OP as it originally was.

Merged the two topics.
First time, so I hope I did it right.

(That's why the posts above me may not seem in chronological order- the two different threads were active and posted in at the same time)

I say that it's fine. There's no 1.5 turns right?

Making it delay all enemy creatures sounds like SO OP that you should've quit writing when it hit you. If it didn't hit you like a lightning bolt, here is what I mean: With 6 Dials you can delay your enemy for 6 turns while your creatures can still attack. That's comparable with 2 Dimensional Shields, but wait! The Shield doesn't let you draw more cards, and the Dials don't take up your shield's slot. So a deck with 6 Dim Shields, 6 Dials makes your enemy unable to attack you for 24 turns.

I think it is fine as well.

Your creatures can't attack either.

It gives you time for a a set up, it has great synergy with any deck that requires a little time. For instance, steam machines. One or two sun dials is enough to get a steam machine strong enough to trade punches with a dragon.

In addition sun dials are in some ways better then hourglasses in getting the card you want. They keep your enemy from killing you while you draw and play.

It is fine.
