To set up a mummy/reverse time deck, you need a trio of  :gravity :time :death to utilize the scarab's devour ability. To help reduce the cost of this trio I propose that Mummys receive an "evolve" ability that allows them to transform into pharaohs for *two* time quanta. (to match the cost of RT without using it)

Ah, no. Mummies are perfect as they are: their main purpose is to beat your opponent down, not to become Pharaohs. I view the passive ability as a bonus, an interesting mechanic, but not as the main purpose of the card. A way to get Pharaohs if you don't have them.

But it wouldn't hinder their ability to be the type of card you refer to them as; even if it has that ability you could still use it as a standard mummy card, except with this it would also help with its alternative use.

I see the passive as a drawback: you're getting a 3 attack creature you can't use instead of just having to play it back. Sort of underwhelming for a rush, huh? ;)

Just because that wouldn't be a trio deck doesn't mean it doesn't still need 3 elements to work (and it probably would, unless you want to run time quanta off the mark).

It isn't that hard to use gravity pends, time pends, reverse times, mummies, and a death mark, and even slip a couple of other cards in at all. It's still a usable trio, and not all trios are bad.

So, you want to buff mummy because the buff wouldn't hinder it? That's not a very good reason because a buff, by definition, makes a card stronger. In order to have my support, you'll need to provide a reason why the card is UP, and I don't think there is one, because it is a better attacker than the blue crawler, graviton merc, and flesh spider.

Also, keep in mind it's ability makes it slightly stronger, not weaker. It's semi-immune to RT. While your creature loses 2 attack, the player with the mummy does not lose a draw. The extra draw can help them get more damage or defense:
Somehow still around, somewhat

Also think about the logic of what you're saying.
The mummy won't evolve into a Pharaoh, since the Pharaoh is before the Mummy phase. Therefore evolving (going forward in time) is totally the opposite of any logic. Getting a Pharaoh out of a Mummy is back in time, not forward, hence this suggestion wouldn't fit.
And I think Mummy is a well balanced card, good attacker for a smaller cost and semi-protection from RT. No Buff needed...

The elite mummy needs a buff since once upgraded, it doesn't do anything except turn it into an Elite Pharaoh. :death

Now, now. Elite Mummy costs one less when upgraded, unless I'm mistaken.

Elite mummy gets -1 cost. Strong card, no buff.

Indeed. Minus 1 cost to bring out an Elite Pharaoh is impressive. Especially since that leads to Elite Scarabs.
