make it 2l4 and cost 2 :water. i see no point in it having a raised attack when you upgrade mind flayer since that extra power does nothing other than weaken it further by making it vulnerable to more shields. besides it's obvious that it's not even meant to be a major attacking card and yet upgrading it seems to try to make it so without any success. also i see no point in it's playing cost going up by 50% as the buff you give it when you upgrade it (plus 2hp and 1 att.) isn't justifiably good enough to do so. a definite buff required. an unupped card should never have preference over upped unless it's one of those interchanging ones like pufferfish and FFQ etc.

I think if ulitharid gets buffed, it should get +0l1 or -1 cost. It would also be nice if they changed its element to aether.

:aether already has Lobo. What's the point of adding another card with the exact same effect in the exact same element?

lobotomizer is not a creature is it? That is, unless you use animate weapon, bu those take up lots of space. Ulitharid could be a mini-lobo in creature form. If their defense was lowered or stays the same, lobo would still be better, because it is not vulnerable to CC and it has a better attack. Ulitharid could take the place of lobo for those who don't have it, or it could just be there while you are waiting to get lobotomizer in your hand.

Aether don't really need another buff. Water desparately do though.

These guys are one of my favorites out there, so this is my opinion:

2 :water
Ulitharid:
3 | 4 (5?)
 :aether: Psionic Wave

- The life boost is a great thing by itself, helps a lot to survive. The current attack power increase is really a drawback in practice (the same would go for the chrys, but at least it adds up with poison), as it was mentioned before, it makes him vulnurable to all shield effects, but I believe it was intended this way, just like mind flayer is vulnurable to all unupgraded shields, probably for balancing out the powerful ability it has.

The strength of the Mind Flayer is that it comes out before the various other critters that could kill it, and it removes the abilities that would kill it -- so it 'wins the race'.  Ulitharid is less so, and the +1|+2 it gains for being upgraded doesn't deserve the increase in cost that goes along with it.  So, my vote is to knock it down to a 2 cost and otherwise leave it alone.  That would be fully appropriate.
So I must fully agree with Essence here: It's purpose is not to hit, just to come out fast, and suck up all the skills (brains) the enemy throws at you before they can use them. But that 1point cost increase makes this much harder than it looks. And comparing with other unupgraded-upgraded creatures, this +1 cost is not even necessary.

And if you think of it.. that 3 attack could be even the perfect choice for an adrenalin in case your Puffers don't show up.

All in all, -1 :water cost is the way to go -- besides this, it's perfect.
:water   "..It is in this domain that the living suffer great extremes, it is here that the water-failures, driven to desperation, make start in a new element.
It is here that strange compromises are made and new senses are born."

I agree with TII here.  A boost to 4 health makes it survive a heck of a lot more, and it is not played for its attack power, but for the ability.  Attack remaining the same is fine, though I'd say a boost to 5 health might work - it can survive Elite Otyugh that way.
Every time I look at a buff thread, you get in here and say EXACTLY what I wanted to say. At least you say it better than I would have. :D

Ulitharid 2 :water to summon will be better. (+HP also good)

if raise atk, it will be targeted with highly chance by FG. That will be no good for FG grinders.

I came up with the right buff.

Ulitharid right now is 3|4 3 :water, and can Lobotomize for :aether.

My suggestion would be:

Ulitharid

2 :water
2|5 .
:aether Lobotomize target creature. Gain +1/+1.

Interesting but: no way ... besides being OP like that, you probably couldnt even code it to make sure
it actually loboed something and didnt just "lobo" some random skeleton or something to grow

For me it's either HP+1 or  att-1/cost -1

First case increases survivability against Otys and bolts
Second case just makes it a slightly better flayer that can take a hit from a firelance or survive for a
couple more turns after being infected or something
