You also spent two cards for that recluse and just one for the immortal. All this talk of quanta ratio where you end up spending two cards is ultimately meaningless since you could have an extra card and card advantage/tempo is more important than cost/attack ratio most of the time.

That's not the problem though.

The Card advantage is meaningless if you have no reason to quint the Creature in the first place.

There is no deck that I know of that uses quinted Phase Spiders. Absolutely none.

The ultimate problem to immortal is that it's immortality doesn't actually help it much.
It's just a bonus. There's simply no reason to waste a quint on such a basic creature.
Quints are mostly used on creatures with viable abilities, Oty, Destroyer, FFQ being classic examples. An immortal basic creature doesn't use quint to it's full potential, so there's no reason it should cost so much just because it's quinted.

I disagree Eva to a degree, Just because there are more useful creatures to Quint, does not mean its not useful to have the immortal quinted.  Its actually, very, very useful to have a moderate damage dealer immune to CC.

Its almost like having a 4 damage poison on your enemy, though shields keep it from actually being the same as a 4 damage poison.

I'm not saying It's not useful, I'm just saying it doesn't provide any card advantage and should not be compared in such a way.

Just because it is "Pre-Quinted" does not give you any particular card advantage, and doesn't make that a reason to justify such a large cost.

It should still cost a bit more then your normal moderate damage dealer. Its still a significant advantage to have nigh invincible damage dealers.

I know.
I'm not disagreeing with that.

But it should not cost a TON more like it does now. A small buff would be good enough.

If I had to choose, I'd say lower the cost on each by one.

In my opinion, I would either do +1|+1, or reduce quanta cost by 1 for both unupped and upped.
lava golems are the best creatures in the game cause I said so

as long as it still gets past Grav Shield I'm happy, although cost should be reduced to 5|5 upd and unupd imo!

bump

I feel since some cards got buffed/nerfed in 1.26 i think we need to reopen discuss on a buff for immortal, it's just terrible even for mono aether. While massive dragon is getting buffed, why not buff another card that needs it like this poor immortal?
