The sad truth is, that the grav.merc as he is and probably even as he may be when buffed will
never be able to rock as much as Blue + Abyss Crawlers.

Ah ok. Haven't really played unupped in ages so for me its really:

Puffer AND Crawler ... now that's a deadly party, especially since the Puffer-buff.

As I seen, the best ideas are, IMO, that it should have less quanta cost, or some special ability, since a buff in attack or defense would be a mess/disaster/not likely to the overwhelming Zanz... Maybe 3 would buff them somehow, or even having some silly, nearly unuseful (except sometimes) ability...
I claim that "add it an ability" and "any combination of the above (comment)" should be added to the poll

Highlighted the important part.

If it still needs a buff, 5hp wouldn't be gamebreaking.  Toadfish would still be better damage-per-quanta, but for a harder-to-play card, that's not a problem.

The upped costs 2, and 3 is still more expensive than 2 last time I checked

A single quantum cost drop is pretty much air's entire thing.

HEY AWESOME IDEA! Make the upped version cost only 3 random quanta! Its mercenary, they fight for the highest bidder anyway!
