perhaps make it so that nothing can be played that would go in the top and bottom rows for a turn or so. It takes some time to recover from a flood
Except that's just basically the effect that was it has now over a shorter period of time. Unless by "top" u mean permanents, which would be interesting.
I didn't mean just a one time thing- it would keep resetting. And yes that would be interesting.
It is the greatest mystery of all...

Still the major problem is the area it affects, so I still don't like that effect. My favorite is the slow impending flood from last page. My effect  :D

How about the effect isn't instantly there for the upper and lower row, but instead it will grow in size - maybe just like afflotoxin - with the potential to fill the whole friggin board - unless stopped of course?

At least this sounds pretty dangerous to me.  :'(

What about a total restyling?

Name: Flooding
Element:  :water
Type: Permanent
Cost:  3 :water
Effect: Kill one non-water non-airborne creatures on the field each turn. Lasts 4 turns. Absorbs :water :water per turn.

Name: Inundation
Element:  :water
Type: Permanent
Cost:  2 :water
Effect: Kill one non-water non-airborne creatures on the field each turn. Lasts 5 turns. Absorbs :water :water per turn.

Of course this card needs a buff. It's just that I can't think of a good one.

The card has potential. It just lacks synergy. Look at Dark Kraken (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,21004.0.html) to see what I mean. That alone would probably make this worth its card slot.

Inundation should have creatures underwater untargetable? Dunno if that's been suggested before >.>"

This even if it has been suggested before (idk) is a good buff.
Cards should be worthwhile on their own or with a large number of other cards (animate weapon).
As such synergy is not the answer buffing the original card is.

There are two ways to buff the original card either a direct buff like funerallaughter's idea or altering the metagame such that this card becomes much more useful as creature control.

I like the idea of either flooding the entire field and everything slowly drowning or the insta-death flood that slowly creeps up the field.  I'd definitely use the card if it was changed to either of these effects.

maybe it could still kill but every turn it effects different, random, parts of the field.
