Well, damselflys and dragonflies are both predators of flying insects...

Maybe some sort of ability to attack flying creatures?
Air DOES seem to have its own little creature control fetish... Maybe it can slice off a point of damage to a target flying creature per turn?

It doesn't suck, you just have to understand what it is.  I look at these as attacking pillars.  I used to think these guys were worthless, but they are more useful than you think.  The 2 attack over several turns can really add up, while they power your dragons, wyrms, or Eagle Eyes.

Yeah, something like that might be cool.

It would be a little trickier for the damselfly, since I don't think a creature can have two abilities.  I guess the quanta generation would be passive and the attack would be active?

That would give it another advantage; lobotomizer wouldn't stop it from generating quanta.  Not that it would be hard to kill outright at 1 HP.

I used to like Damselfly before Shard of Gratitude decided to run rampant in the top 50. Damselfly is amazing at whittling down your opponent's health, and it replaces its cost, so it's pretty much a free creature. Unfortunately, this card is pretty much unplayable now with the current game environment. This card doesn't need to be buffed, though. Other cards need to be nerfed.
I have to agree with this.  An early-game 1/1 creature can easily contribute 10+ damage to the cause if it goes unpunished (10% of your victory assuming no heals).  It can be that pesky little gnat that lures out a couple of heals a turn or two earlier than your opponent really wanted to play them.  The problem with this comes-in when every color can have upto 2 Shards of Gratitude out on the first turn of the game.  Suddenly that annoying little itch is nothing at all.

Dragonflies pretty fast. An evasion ability of some kind would be appropriate. Maybe one Similar to Fog Shield

Damselflies are actually really good for life/wind if you adrenaline them.
Dragonfly though, I admit is pretty useless.

Damselfly doesn't need a buff. What the entire current playing environment needs is the death of SoG... It totally kills any semblance of strategy in elements. Matter of fact, just about every permanent healing card in elements needs a nerf... Feral Bond, SoG, they need nerfs, damselfly doesn't need a boost...

Healing is a detriment to this card, but feral bond in no way needs a nerf.  Nerfing SoG is a completely sepearate discussion.

All this card needs to become more viable is an air pump spell or some reason to generate tons of air quanta.  The mechanic of the card itself is fine.

This

The card mechanics are the same as ash eater, and ash eater is used fairly often. So the problem is in the supporting cards available to this one, not this card itself.
