For my pendulumdeck's test I am trying all possible duo's, unupgraded, in this order:
  , , ...
  , , ...
Etc, you get the point.

I am no at , meaning I have tried all death duo's, and there were only 2 deathstalker deck's in 13 decks (I have made 2  decks), however, there where 7 decks involving poison (with or without deathstalker).
The only deck's using deathstalker were  , and  .
Side note, when talking upgraded, I would have used chaos power + deathstalker for  , and maybe eclipse + deathstalker for  .

The point is, especially the unupgraded deathstalker is really weak, because for unupgraded there are only 2 reliable duo's. Chaos power only works upgraded, and nightfall isn't worth taking, because the 1 damage is to easily blocked, and you might never get the card (you don't want to splash 6 nightfall, but 6 momentum isn't a problem).

I would say, the unupgraded deathstalker needs (at least) a HP buff, and I am against an attack buff for the upgraded, because that would make the difference even bigger.

I really like the 3 poison ability, or the poison on death, which would be even more fitting, and would make people think twice before killing it.

The extra poison would def be nice to have. I am starting to get angry at myself for using this almost worthless card.

I voted 1 attack, but I'm seriously thinking about switching to the poison on death camp.  Poison on death fits with the name deathstalker and would make it unique.

What amount of poison would be balanced?  I say ~3

Three sounds good to me. Anything more than that could end up being over the line. Although Im trying to decide if that would actually be beneficial. The reason I say 1 attack would be OP is because you could spam these a lot easier, and get the poison up before a shield is placed down. I may be wrong though.

How about raise the cost, but also give it the same ability that crysaora has?
That way it can still be effective before you get the buff, and make it extremely effective at piling on the poison damage when you do.

So like:

Deathstalker  3
Applies 2 poison on a successful hit.
Poison : Deal 1 poison damage to your opponent.

Very, very good idea. 3 seems fine, imo, since the ability costs , too. Another thing you could do would be make the ability 2 , since it's mono-death instead of water-death, and reduce summoning cost to 2 if needed.
